Distance sampling data of South American grey fox (Lycalopex griseus) collected in the Janurary of 2019 on Weddell Island

The dataset contains measurements from a distance sampling survey of South American grey fox (Lycalopex griseus), conducted in January 2019 on Weddell Island in The Falkland Islands. 12 strata were constructed along the coast of the island, stretching 1 km in land. Total of 94 transects was laid out perpendicular to the coast. See the attached map. Distance between each transect was of 1 km. During survey, weather conditions, time and observer was recorded. Upon every encounter of a fox, distance from the observer to the animal was recorded, along with the angle between the animal and the transect. This data was used to calculate the perpendicular distance of the fox to the transect. Information for each recording was noted including: time of observation, GPS coordinates and approximated age (cub, juvenile or adult).
