Falkland Islands Sponges 2019

The dataset is an excel file with location data on specimens of sponges collected by Claire Goodwin and Shallow Marine Surveys Group divers at various locations in the water around west Falkland. The specimens were identified by Claire Goodwin and are held by the Atlantic Reference Centre Museum. The data collection occurred in November 2019 as part of the SAERI Marine Management Areas Darwin Plus project.

Lineage The dataset contains data on the location, depth and species identification of each specimen of sponges. These are held by the Atlantic Reference Centre Museum in Canada. Ultimately, the dataset will be imported in the Falkland Islands sponge database (MS Access) collected in the last 10 years on various Shallow Marine Surveys Group Expeditions to Bird Island, Queen Charlotte Bay, the Jason Islands and other areas of West Falkland.
