Groundtruthing points for the Falkland Islands broad scale habitat map collected through 2018 soil campaign

The dataset is a geojson file wich includes points used for validating the broad-scale habitat map for the Falkland Islands. Points were collected during the first year soil campaign run by the DPLUS083 soil mapping project. The dataset, apart from habitat class and patch size information, includes links to photographs of the location where data have been collected.

Lineage The dataset was created by recording spatial location for a particular habitat on a handheld garmin GPS and completing a paper recording form, which was then entered into a spreadsheet. One entry for each spatial location, recording percentage cover of observed habitats as well as patch size. Photographs were also taken and these have been linked to the data, and exported into a geojson.
