| Lineage | The dataset was generated in QGIS initially from a 3nm buffer around the coastline of Bird Island. Then this buffer was used to derive a simplified boundary, as per the "Guidance on defining boundaries for MMAs in the Falkland Islands" , included as an Annex in Golding. N. & Aug?. A.A., 2017. The Assessment of Fishing Closure Areas as Sites for wider marine management in the Falkland Islands (known as the AFCAS report). Evidence supporting this boundary is from a variety of sources, and includes information on globally significant populations of seabirds. Further data sources are listed in the AFCAS report. |
