| Lineage | Cetacean sightings (species names and estimated group size) were recorded and, if encountered, the GPS location of the boat and environmental conditions of the environment were noted such as sea state (beaufort scale), swell height, cloud cover, visibility. Cetaceans were monitored for 5 minutes from the first encounter. Presence/absence of calves and when possible count was gathered separately. In addition, photos of the cetaceans were taken for later identification (film numbers) and seabirds were recorded as presence/absence and sometimes as species and count. |
