Endemic Plant Survey

A data set detailing the distribution and abundance of endemic vascular plants on St Helena. The data set comprises three parts: (1) a shapefile layer comprising polygons of the extent of each large population; (2) a point layer describing the locations of very small populations, generally where only one or two isolated plants are present, and also a selection of randomly-sampled vegetation relevees made within the polygons of Part 1; (3) a database containing information on the species present, the number of individuals and associated ecological data such as site descriptions, soil types, vegetation heights and relevees. The database in 3 will be made available separately and will probably be incorporated into the Biological Records Database. However, the data can be linked to both Shapefiles layers (1 and 2) via a unique identifier field.
