| Lineage | Oceanographic sensors are mounted on a lander frame (~1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 m in size) and record data over the descent and ascent of the lander, the same as sensors collected on the submersible. The sensors used and therefore variables collected may differ. If a D2 sensor is used, it is a CTD collecting conductivity, temperature and depth. If an RBRconcerto is used, it is collecting conductivity, temperature, depth, oxygen, turbidity, chlorophyll. An SBE49 is a CTD, an RBRduet is temperature and pressure. These are raw data sets with no quality control or quality corrections applied and in raw format. |

| Accuracy | uncertainty in location of landers and submersible +/- 200m, see position information in metadata spreadsheet. Uncertainty in the collected data is specific to the sensor. For an SBE49 (on lander MA and submersible Baku - he CTDs measured conductivity, temperature, and pressure at ± 0.0003 S m−1, ± 0.002 ∘C, and ± 0.1 % of the full-scale range, respectively. For the RBR concerto, the Conductivity , temp and pressure have ± 0.003 mS/cm, ± 0.002 ∘C, and ± 0.05 % of the full-scale range, respectively. |
